Takako Minekawa

Takako Minekawa
"Cloudy Cloud Calculator"
(Emperor Norton, 1998)

Normally all the music that comes from Japan gives me the greatest of indifference, but not for Minekawa Takako (a name easy to memorize, right?). Minekawa It is the ultra-fan of Kraftwerk (quite funny "Kraftpark"), you whistle the sixties analog keyboards (Moog God above all), has a cat that will record sounds that can then be heard on discs and is the wife of the well known Japanese producer Cornelius. "Cloudy Cloud Claculator" (Emperor Norton, 1998) is the record that I like best I've heard this woman, but a short distance. Admittedly it is a type of music you can put some nerves, but I have a soft spot for bands like Pizzicato Five, Dee Lite and not to mention others like Kraftwerk or Stereloab. A sound cóptel decidedly friendly and Pop who join primitive electronics, the retro-futurism of the 60 French Pop, Kraftwerk, and in general all kinds of cachibaches making "PING." A very pleasant album to listen, with a palette of sounds is much wider than it appears at first listen.
I also recalled the mega-freak of Bruce Haack (respect!) and James Pants. Recommended!
